Roxana Suarez
Dante Sanchez
July 6-12, 2025
Roxana is one of the leading representatives of the emerging generation in salon tango, skilfully blending age-old traditions with a breath of fresh energy and authentic passion. Followed by hundreds of tangueros around the world, she has combined authenticity and modernity in her style, synthesizing her milonguera experience and stage talents, and enhancing her graceful agility and precision. Roxana's journey into dance began in childhood. The heartbeat of tango accompanied her even in her mother's womb, and she grew up immersed in her grandmother's milonga, watching the best dancers of that era. In February 2007, Roxana began her professional career. Firmly rooted in the belief that to be an outstanding teacher must first be a dedicated student, she has never ceased to explore, study and evolve her dance, constantly perfecting her teaching methods. Soon she was caught up in a whirlwind of inter-continental touring. Roxana has taught and participated in many renowned international festivals such as Mallorca tango festival, TanGoTO Istanbul, Taupei Tango Festival, Turino and Brussels tango festival etc... She is a dancer who knows the abrazo of the greatest dancers: there are many videos where she is the partner of Chicho, Facundo Piñero, Javier Rodriguez... In 2007, at the age of 19, Dante Sanchez and his partner Inez Muzzopappa won the World Tango Championship. This victory catapulted him to the highest level of Tango, leading him to embark on several tours, to participate in numerous festivals and then to be part of the cast of some of the biggest Tango shows. Highly appreciated in the world of tango, but not only, he has appeared on famous television programs and worked with artists of many different genres. Dante's early immersion in tango was facilitated by his family during his childhood in Patagonia; his mother even sang tangos to him as lullabies. At the age of 9, he began to study tango formally, taking lessons with influential milongueros in Argentina. These experiences gave him deep, authentic roots in the dancers he came into contact with, helping to shape his own artistic identity. Dante seems to embody the essence of another era: the golden age of Tango. For the past five years, he has been part of the “Senior Tango” company in Buenos Aires. Currently, Dante produces his own tango dinner show in the Boedo district with 15 talented dancers.
In 1999, Alberto Sendra & Fernanda Japas met for the first time and started a career together that continues today, being one of the longest standing Argentine couples dancing together. Paired with a tango salon style influenced by the new dance currents without losing the essence of the tango golden age, they exhibited their art at the most renowned places in Buenos Aires tango circuit: Salon Canning (Parakultural), Club Independencia, Club Gricel, Sunderland, La Ideal, La Garufa, Glorias Argentinas and El Beso, among others. They have danced in the following theatres of Buenos Aires in 1999 - 2016: Alvear, Astral, Coliseo, Cervantes, de la Comedia y El Globo. In 2013, they established their own tango academy in Buenos Aires, “ALFER Espacio de Arte”, where they give group and private tango lessons. They are also long-standing tango masters at Escuela Argentina de Tango, Club La Independencia, Club Gricel, Obelisco Tango and Lo de Celia Tango Club. During their career, they have taught thousands of students of all levels, from early beginners to professionals. They have participated in the Buenos Aires world championship tango festival as teachers, judges and overseers .
